Tray Radio

If you like to listen to the radio while working on your computer, Tray Radio will do more than satisfy your needs. As its name implies, the application works in the system tray, out of your way, so you can focus on more important tasks, without having to bother with a minimized media player.

The application is offered completely free of charge, but you can make a donation if you wish to support further developments. It comes in a small package and it can be installed quickly, without any effort. Furthermore, the application doesn't use too many resources and it doesn't have any special requirements.

You can let Tray Radio work in the background and switch between radio stations through its system tray icon. The application comes with a rich selection of radio stations, from Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands. The stations are neatly categorized and not just by country. What's more, the application lets you add your own radio stations to the library.

Radio stations can be selected in a system of menus and sub-menus, after right clicking the system tray icon. Furthermore, if you left click the icon, the application will reveal an equalizer, on which you may create and save your own profiles. You can also find a set of playback controls, on the equalizer panel, as well as a recording option. Broadcasts can be recorded with a single click and they are saved automatically, in MP3 format, on the desktop, once you stop recording.

Having Tray Radio installed on your computer will make you wonder why operating systems don't have this functionality by default.
